One of the most important aspects of any document review is defensibility. At Proteus, we work with you to design and implement review guidelines that help avoid common pitfalls in a review process. We will work with you to develop coding palates that take into account the specific needs of your project and can help develop processes to deal with unique sets of data that may not be ripe for a traditional document review. Every step along the way will be documented in our defensibility binder, so in the event any choice is challenged, we can work together to demonstrate our approach to the document review complies with any and all applicable rules or regulations.
Accurate and Adaptable
We work with you to identify data sources and to create review protocols that result in accurate and usable document sets that are searchable, usable and properly coded. We recognize that, when dealing with data and deciding on responsiveness or identifying potential privilege, there will inevitably be questions early in the review process. In order to create uniform review protocols, Proteus generates a daily question log where our reviewers identify their questions based on what they are seeing in the documents. The Proteus Project manager will work with you to resolve these questions and place the question and response in a decision log for review by all of the reviewers to ensure that you know what the reviewers are seeing in the database and have input to ensure they are addressing any issues in a manner consistent with your needs.
One chief concern regarding any document review is whether it is progressing to meet any and all deadlines. Our approach to this is simple. We will work with you to identify all important deadlines for a project and staff your project to meet that deadline. Along the way, we will provide you reports identifying the document review rates of our attorneys, the number of documents reviewed, and our overall progress in a simple, graphical presentation. We are flexible enough to generate any other information needed on a schedule that work for you.
