Learn how to identify and care for your special family photos at a free workshop at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center. Presenter Joan Hostetler, a historic photograph specialist and Indiana Album director, will discuss how to examine and interpret historic photographs, reviewing processes and formats from the daguerreotype to snapshot. She will also explore internal dating clues, such as clothing, hairstyles, automobiles, props, photographers' backstamps, and even ear shapes. This workshop will begin at 1:30 and run through 3...including questions.
In connection with this workshop, you are invited to reserve spots to have have your interesting Indiana-related photographs scanned. Technicians will make high resolution scans while you wait and, later, the images and descriptive information will be loaded into the Indiana Album web page (www.indianaalbum.com) an online catalog of 7,500 Indiana related images so far. The Irvington Historical Society will receive digital copies of any Irvington related images.
